Enable phone emergency alerts, enroll in local notifications, and keep a battery-powered receiver. Verify evacuation instructions with local emergency management. Do not assume that switching cellular carriers removes dependence on towers and backhaul.
Starlink & Wi-Fi calling
A compatible phone can use a working Starlink Wi-Fi connection for carrier Wi-Fi calling when local cellular service is unavailable. Enable and test the feature ahead of time. Power, active service, sky view, and carrier support are still required.
